I just got an iSight this weekend (bought it at the brand new Apple Store on Michigan Ave in Chicago...awesome store, BTW!), and am having some audio issues.

I haven't tested the AV part of iChatAV with it yet, but I've been curious to see how the microphone portion works with audio recording apps.

I've tried using it with QT Broadcaster and QuickVoice, and I get some major feedback noise whenever the app tries to access the iSight. My computer setup on my desk seems pretty standard...I have a G4 Cube with 15" Studio Display, with the Cube speakers on the sides and the iSight mounted on top of the SD. I also have an iSub below my desk on the floor.

The iSight is physically positioned behind the Cube speakers, with the fronts of the speakers about 6" in front of the iSight lens.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a really simple solution that I'm just overlooking?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't tested out my iSight with any audio apps (bought mine at the Grand Opening as well by the way), but I tested out the video with someone and he started experiencing some feedback on his side... He had his positioned close to some external speakers as well and that could easily cause the problem. I am running my iSight through an iBook (clipped to the top of the screen) and haven't had issues but then again, my built-in speakers are away from the camera and aren't too powerful...

If you want to test out video or anything let me know... I happen to live in the same town as you (not that it matters, just concidental)... Not too many Mac folk that I know in "the ville".

I talked to a guy in australia, and he had headphones on. It helped out a lot. No feed back. As opposed to the ability to hear the IM blips on his computer all the time. Or the Strong Bad music (Damn you Justin!).
