Hi all,
I've been playing around with these neat USB drives. They're very convenient, but I'd like to have a way to lock it so that only I can access it. I tried setting the permissions on it so that only I can use it, but that only works for the duration of it's use with the computer. If you unmount it and switch users, the OTHER user is now the owner. The other permissions which prevent users other than the user that first mounted the unit stick, but that's not what I want. Is there any way to properly lock a USB drive? Thanks.

Is the drive formatted as HFS+ or UFS? Remember that HFS and FAT don't support permissions.

Well, that would explain why it only supports the user that first mounted the device. Yes, it was HFS. In fact, I don't know if you can format it in UFS. I'll have to see if I can do that.
