Hi,

I got the cable that connect the mini-vga to my TV via SVideo... fine... but how can I hear something?

The sound is sent to the iBook's speakers, not to the TV

I think I need another cable that joins the audio jack and the SVideo. Am I right?
Can you suggest me where to find this cable/adaptor?

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL....5.8.3.22.13.0

I know it's bad to link from the apple store, but if the link is dead just go to www.apple.com

store/cables/

then just scroll down until you find:

Apple AV Cable

All you need is a cable that goes from the headphone jack to RCA. Something like this.

Svideo doesn't carry audio and that cable supports video also I use this all the time to play my music on my stereo. You can pick one up anywhere. Just ask for a mini to RCA cable.

That cable is only for the old iBook, newer ones have a mini-VGA connector, not that strange jack.

What do you mean by old? My late 2001 iBook (white square one) has a mini-VGA port as well as video out the 3.5mm mini jack (the one that is also the headphone jack). I bought on of the above mentioned cables for it at the same time I bought the iBook, great for showing divx's on the TV.

Yes, you iBook is considered an old model (3 generations). The next generations use a different plug setup for video out.

just go to radio shack and find a headphone to RCA out cord. Thats all you need. Use the S-video for the video and the other wire for sound.
