I just got my first one, a 15 GB... wow this thing is so friggin cool!
I just need to get it into my car stereo so I can stop dragging the CDs with me everywhere I go. Is an iPod ok to sit in a car on a super hot summer day? Plus does anyone know anything about the AUX input, intended for the CD CHanger, on GM Delco Bose radios? I think I read somehwere that you can put an audio signal into it, I don't wanna use a FM Transciver, they sound like crap comapred to a direct line in. Some kind of nifty Pod holder would be nice too :-D

Like every electronic item I wouldn't recommend leaving the iPod exposed to the sun. It might well be ok, but I just wouldn't.

Someone posted a photo of their iPod Dock bolted into the dash, I think. Might be a bit extreme for you, though.

in defense of the poster, iPod's could be a contraction for iPod is, as in 'iPod is kick ass' since he could be referring to his own... it may not be grammatically correct, but it is how (many) people talk.

take it into an Apple Store... if you bought it from them they'll most likely replace it on the spot.

a bit more difficult in my situation. i bought the ipod through a friend who is an apple employee and i purchased it at the company store. as soon as a i walked in the door with the box in my hand, the worker immediately told me to call applecare because they don't handle returns there.
i'm worried that apple will indeed find a problem with my ipod, but will send me a refurb model to replace it...they better not pull that crap!!

try taking it to a regular Apple Store.. i would think that, as long as you bought it from apple, they would repair it first (when i brought in my iPod that i got through the dell deal, they told me to call Dell first, and if they didn't do anything, Apple would repair it)

Was that really necessary?
Not everyone gets the same education...
Not everyone's first language is English.
My point is that not everyone cares about its vs. it's.
And one could argue that American english is a bastardization of the true english language anyway...
The real american english is what people speak in their homes...and yes online too.

P.S. Edited because I sunk to the level of an insult...I shouldn't have..

Are you really so insecure about your own intelligence that you have to post this kind of crap?
My insecurities aside, it's an easy rule to remember, and it's an amusing picture. If you don't share my sense of humour, bad luck. If anybody is offended by it, I'm sorry, that was not the intention.
Lighten up a bit, people.

Actually the overwhelming majority of people who make this kind of mistake are in fact native speakers of English. Seriously this is one of my pet peeves. Everyone makes mistakes occasionally, but this is an epidemic! Nobody seems to know how to use "it's" vs "its" for example.

Yeah. It's one of my pet peeves too. Another favorite is: "He sold the iPod to her and I." or "Me and him went to the Apple Store."
The internet has really revealed the paucity of good grammar and spelling out there. Of course people think I'm a loser because I care about "grammar" and "spelling". And I use words like "paucity." Oh well. I'm a loser.
On another note... I just upgraded my 1st gen. 5 gigger iPod for a 3rd gen. 15 gigger. On the drive home I was cursing myself for being implusive and flushing money down the toilet. I didn't need the extra space... I hadn't filled the 5 gigger. But now that I've played with it I LOVE it! It's much sleeker and some of the new features in the OS are really useful. I love the dock, love the sleep timer, love the backlight dimming effect, love the form factor. I even love the remote which I thought would be useless. The only thing I don't love are the headphones which I've replaced.
