i think the nokia 3650 for $0 is a better deal, not only for the price but because it is reputed to have better RF reception. just something to think about (and i'm not sure if the promotion is still running), if you're in the market for a bluetooth phone.

The current rebates from Amazon get better on the 17th - i think you may be able to get money back on the 3650. To each his own - I like the T610.

Here's the new rebate form. Amazon Rebate

p.s. - GET RID OF THAT HUGE SIG (poor dialup users)

I think the Sanyo 8100 for $99 through Sprint PCS is much better.

We're all biased to personal opinion.

Amazon dropped the price to $150 (from $300) for the T610. If they keep the same price, starting tomorrow you'll be able to get the T610 with a $39+ plan on T-mobile for -$50!

$150price-$150rebate(Amazon)-$50rebate(T-mo)= -50

You might want to read thisreview before buying the 610 or 616 phone.

Too bad, that was my hopeful replacement to my t68i (which I still enjoy).

The mobileburn review has been edited since it was originally posted. This was the worst review for the T610 on the internet. Since edit, the author has changed his opinion slightly - phone sucks to phone acceptable. Check out mobileburn for the edits.

Damn, that's too bad. I was hoping to get a T616 to replace my T68i as well.

My next phone has to have Bluetooth so I'm going to keep a close eye Motorola's V600 when it is released.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Siemens S56 so far is quite good, though I wish the screen were a bit brighter. A month with the lilliputian phone, and that's my biggest complaint. It doesn't exhibit any apparent bad reception or bad sound that is said to afflict the Sony Ericsson T-models. And it's quite a looker, too.

Lord o lord I just wish someone would release a CDMA bluetooth phone!

This is not to start a GSM/CDMA argument- I don't really care- however I have to use Verzion becasue:

A) It's who my employer uses, and they pay for it.

B) It's the only carrier (as far as I know) with service in the DC Subway system. As I spend way too much time in these trains going to and from work, I really need coverage in there.

It really frosts my arse that no CDMA bluetooth phones even seem to be on the horizon.

And I know about the Sony one, but it appears to be DOA- Verizon and Sprint all but gave them the finger.
Paco is bitter about the loss of his .mac webpage. Image will return when his sadness lessens.

Yeah I am waiting for that phone as well. You wouldn't happen to know what carriers will supply this phone do you? I have Verizon right now, and I am hoping they will add this to their motorola line. I was looking at the T610, but if this comes out in October when my plan expires I will be very excited. My current phone is a motorola I have had for two years and it is great.

Can anyone say which carrier you use and if you have reception problems at all? I live in Southern California and have a t68i on AT&T. Service is poor most of the time. I can't even use the phone in my house. I'm not sure if it's the phone or the service. If I was to switch, who has the best GSM network?

Thanks!

I have heard lots of bad things about the service on Cal.

here in Toronto my T68i never gets below 2 bars, even out in the sticks it is still kickin' it.

There are rumors that Cingular will be the first US carrier to offer the V600. AT&T and T-Mobile will likely follow. Over at the Howard Forums this thread has some pictures and info/specs regarding the Motorola V300, V500 & V600.

Dude you rock, thats the most info I have seen on the phone yet, great post. I am so excited, I was looking at getting the T610 but it seems less than stellar, with not great reception and the screen not being bright in the day to read. I wish Motorola would put this out already.

Same here, my AT&T wireless phone sucks in both Southern and Northern California.. I hear Verizon is the best for those areas (but their phones aren't as desireable). I also hear T-Mobile is getting better every few months in CA.
