hi all:

am getting constant ‘communication errors’ with my HP640c (OSX.2.4 / Appleworks 6.2.7)

the orange light flashes and paper stops half-way

(admittedly, i’m unplugging & replugging the printer often, but surely this shouldn’t be the cause)

i’m guessing some .plists should go ...

maybe from system/library/printers?

or my

home/library/prefs folder?

but which ones?

have tried cleaning and callibrating via print center but even get ‘communication errors’ when trying that

please send help

bump:

'seems there is a 'collate' check box (on by default) in the print window

(i swear it wasn't there before i updated to Appleworks 6.2.7 )

the point is: when collate is unchecked, the printer runs fine

preferences show no way of unchecking this as default

i print hundreds of 4 page documents so this is an irritant more than anything

would anyone else know a way?
