My brother built a website called metroblossom. It's a free, ad free artistic website and at
http://www.metroblossom.com/
I helped him switch to Macs and he got a Canon 10D digicam the other day. As the 10D is high-res I thought t would be great to use some pics as desktop pictures for multiple monitors. For example, here is one of the very first pics he's taken on it, reduced from 3072x2048:
Below is a thumbnail of the image I cropped up to make it the right resolution (didn't want to scale, rather cut and it is probably about 40% of the original).
Then I thought that rather than displaying the image above and having a jump in the image between the two monitors that I would make it appear as though I have two windows through which I am viewing the scene. In this case the window would obscure the walled area, but lines can be followed from one monitor to the next without the skip I've seen when using other dual scenes.
So, here are the two images I created, each are 1280x1024. I created a gap between the two as you can probably see of 4cm@monitor resolution, to account for my 2cm area from each monitor's last pixel to the edge. If you have more or less space in your setup, I'd be happy to create a set of images for you with a wider or smaller gap (no stretched pixels either):

If you guys like these I have some other ones that are quite nice I could carve some more up and have him put up those too. I'm now happier with this type of segmented background scene and am curious what your thoughts on this "window panes" approach vs. all the image ripped in two.
