I don't use credit cards so I'm going to be going to the Apple store and purchasing the 10GB iPod for $299. I live in Los Angeles. I'm curious if anyone knows of any places (fry's?) that carries the 10GB iPod for cheepier at a physical storefront location that I can buy with cash.

Cheepier? With Apple stuff, you're not generally likely to get much of a discount. The best deal is the Dell deal that comes and goes, but I don't know if there is any way to do that without a credit card.

Definitely...keep an eye on www.dealsontheweb.com and www.dealmac.com as they post updated deals from Dell.com and other places having sells on iPods. And today only, Smalldog.com is selling factory sealed 20GB 2nd gen. iPods for $279, in which you'd get DOUBLE the space.

I don't know about cheepier... that sounds cheaper than cheap. However, Creative Computers in Santa Monica will knock about $6 off the Apple price and generally throws in a free pair of (medicore) speakers. So there's a small advantage.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the place in Santa Monica. I also won't be ordering anywhere online because I need it by tomorrow.

Thanks again.

brainchild...

Why not get a debit card connected to your checking account?

it will work the same way as a credit card...
