well i know there was a difference of opinion on an earlier thread regarding the promo posters of the new iPods.
but every time i'm in an apple store, i see the picture and really want a black iPod.
any chance of a "special edition" ??
no way to mod it i would assume.

besides no fingerprints from newsprint.

I'm actually supprised that Apple hasn't offered multi colored iPods yet. Seems like a good way to pad sales.... Granted it would be soooo 1999 for Apple...

A matte black iPod would be pretty sleek. Shiny would be pretty ugly though.
I guess you could always take the faceplate off of an iPod and make like an iBook modder and wash the white paint off the inside...

Similar to this thread, I have a friend who is a pathalogical liar, (the kind that can never be wrong, even when ultimate wrongness is staring them in the face...) Anyway, soon after the new iPod came out, he went to the apple store and apparently saw the infamous poster, the conversation went:
buddy: have you seen the new iPods? i went to the apple store and looked at them. The black ones are sweet!!!
me: black ones? I'm pretty sure they don't make black ones... did you see that picture with the darkened one with the backlit keys? I saw that online and thought it looked black too.
buddy: no man, they make black ones!
me: Are you sure?! They actually had a black one there that you looked at and played with?
buddy (knowing full well he was mistaken): No man, I played with a black one... maybe it was just a promo or something, i mean... they might not sell the black ones, which is pretty silly, i think, but no man, i saw a black one.
me: okay dude.
thought it was funny, you might have to know the guy.... siiiiigh...

I'd love to see a matte black iPod as well; the first time my girlfriend saw my "LIVE 5.2.03 iPod Poster" she goes: "Oh wow, they make the new ones in black also?" I looked at the poster with an open-mind and saw exactly what she was talking about, and I do agree, a special edition black iPod would be sleek.

You know what would be really cool, an iPod that changed colours to your mood. They could call it, a mPod! It would sell really realy well. Than they could eventually move to a Pet iPod, or pPod. It wouldn't do much, but be really cheap. Or how about a stuff animal iPod, but filled with beans and in lots of cute animal shapes. The beans wouldn't hold much music, but the battery would never run out. iBennie.
Dont' mind my scarcasm, its earily.
