I've got an Lacie pocket drive - very nice it is too! - Untill recently that is - right now it's playing up.

It's firewire and am used to hi-speed swapping of files from various macs I own - all running OSX 10.2.6 - now it's taking a minute or two to appear on screen and am getting beachball spinning for up to 5 minutes before
it slowly copies files across - for instance a 37MB takes 17 minutes.

I have used 'Disk Utility' and erased everything and started again - but as soon as a couple of files are copied onto the drive it starts acting up again.

Is the drive dead or dying - or is there something to get my baby back to where used she used to be - please help me !

Have you tried a different FW cable and do the connections feel tight when you plug the cable in the HD and Mac?

-Cheers Nivag,

I've reformatted the drive three times now -

Connections all seem OK - well I have been using two different FW cables. But using either one, I see no difference in performance - still as slow as ketchup. The connecters on the drive seem OK too ! - There is a slightly disturbing rattle if the drive is gently moved from side to side - but this may be natural - I move it about like a kitten on a cushion.

Don't own one of these pesky buggers - just look what he's doing to that cable !

Maybe I'm just flogging a dead horse but has anyone got or had a terminally ill Pocketdrive and found a cure ? - this is driving me crazy.
