OK, i have verizon as my celluar dealer, and i am wondering if there are any phones that have BT and a colour screen that would work with verizon. I called them up and they say all the phone needs to have is CDMA compatible, but i dont even know where to start! Someone suggested the T608, but that wont start shipping till october of this year (Q2 of 2003). Any ideas??

There are no phone currently offered by Verizon with bluetooth. The T608 will be offered for Sprint and while it is CDMA it is not possible to set it up to work with Verizon's data service. There is nothing officially in the works for Verizon with bluetooth but there is some speculation that they might release a T607 with bluetooth but it is a rumors at this time.
The next phone coming up that could have bluetooth is the Samsung i600 which is a microsoft smartphone with SDIO. Theoretically one could use a bluetooth SDIO card but I don't think anyone knows whether or not bluetooth will be supported by the OS, Verizon, or how the OS will play with OS X and iSync.
Another possibility is if Verizon chooses to offer the upcoming Treo 600. Again there are rumors that this may be the case. The Treo 600 like the i600 has SDIO so it should be possible to add a bluetooth card although Palm OS 5 does not currently support bluetooth SDIO but palm says a driver is forthcoming and I would hope it would be out by the time the Treo is released this fall.
The one option you could get if you really wanted to is an old Motorola phone, the P120(?) I think that has an optional bluetooth add on. However, this phone does not work on the 1xRTT high speed network.
Check out www.howardforums.com for more info on mobile phones. Unforetunately the carrier you (and I) have chosen does not consider bluetooth a priority.

Definetely check out Howard Forums for the latest news. It is to cell phones what the MacNN forums are to Macs.
Just FYI, Qualcomm the maker of CDMA chips used by the manufacturors of Verizon phones has announced built in bluetooth chips on their future CDMA offerings. This should yield upcoming bluetooth products for Verizon but probably not for a while.
