I heard the software is terrible and it is loud as hell.

The latest drivers work quit well and the printer has the same capability as their photosmart printers if you replace their black cartridge (56) with cartridge (58). The combination of cartridges 58, and 57 gives you six color printing at 4800 by 1200.
