Using a 23" Cinema. It's worth it.

i use 2 samsung 172T lcd's (search this forum for a really long thread about them.....)...they're very very nice.

personally, i don't think it is very fair to call apple's lcd's overpriced....they *used* to be, but now the 17" and 20" are great value for lcd's of that high quality.

Apple 20". Unreal quality and not a bad price. Looks to die for. You should get one.

The Samsung 172T - like Mr. Blur's. It's a really bright, really sharp LCD that I bought at a great price. Looks really snazzy next to my G4 MDD and JBL Creatures. I've got it connected to a Radeon 9000 using the DVI port.

Nice displays! I have decided to get 1 (or 2... ) for school. Have you noticed any ghosting while playing FPS or other games?

My 23" HD Display is currently sitting unused, however...

When my Dual 1.25Ghz PowerMac arrives I'll be using a dual-LCD config. w/ a 23" Apple HD Cinema Display + 17" Apple Studio Display...woohoo!

Similar question: can a PB12 drive two external 17's?

I ask, because you can buy 2 17" LCDs for the same price as one 20".
And two 17"s provide a lot of real estate!
Especially in addition to the built-in 12".

Another related question: Which of these displays take VGA in?
Do the displays still look good with VGA input?

Thanks.

Nope, no PowerBook can drive multiple computer displays. And the 12" PB can't drive ANY Apple ADC displays, only VGA displays. VGA LCD's are typically cheaper, however the quality isn't as good. NO Apple LCD accepts VGA in; only ADC in. VGA LCD's still look good enough for the average joe, however photo pros. would want more clarity.

20" Apple display. I looked at about all of them in the last couple of months and thought this was the best of the lot. Beautiful color and perfect for graphics work.

2 Samsmung 172W. I was selling them for a while (to get a single 20" Apple), until I got the chance to actually hook them up to my G4 at work. They're REALLY great. I thought I'd want more screen real estate, but I can wait.

The 172W is the widescreen version of the 172T. It's got built-in speakers and a headphone jack, and also comes with everything you need to wall-mount it. They have a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is great for movie and audio editing. =)

Plus, they're like $600 ea. at the moment

(but hey, if anyone wants to buy mine, I've only used them once! they're basically brand new. $1000 for both. =D

Isn't logic swell? It gives answers without really answering anything!
