I'll soon be buying a PB12.
I'm *thinking* about a fairly mobile printer to go with it.
Most of the time I won't need such... but occasionally it
would be really nice! Thus, I'm not willing to pay a huge
premium. Sooo...

Any recommendations on a reasonably priced, fairly mobile
printer to complement a PB12?

Thanks.

My job currently calls for me to travel around the state to different job sites, as well as commute between home and the office. Being the hired tallent, I use my mac for everything, despite the office being full of archaic, horrible old dells and what not. So I decided I needed a printer I could take with me wherever I went. I chose the canon i70 buble jet printer. here I also considered the BJC-55 from canon here But went with the i70 because of the price. I have found it to be a very handy mobile printer, capable of most things you would need a desktop printer to do. I has borderless print settings and the print quality is comparable to most other desktops. The biggest trade off would be the longivity of your ink cartrages. The i70 takes cartrages that are about tha size of a starburst candy (okay not THAT small...but small!) Luckily for me I make work pay for new ink, and have been hoarding a stash for myself for when classes start. But it is something to consider. If you don't need a portable, I'd go with the canon i950, (same price) i think it is one of the best desktop printers on the market.

Look seriously at the HP Deskjet 450. This printer has the same quality as it larger desktop printers and it uses the same cartridges as well. It also has the ability to print very nice photo's if you use the HP photo cartridge.

The best value in a mobile printer is the HP 350 but you sacrifice print quality especially with photos. Of HP's 450 models I'd go for the cbi model which includes a battery. Also, you might want to consider doing what I did. Buy a used printer. I found a 2 month old Canon i70 for $100. It's light and prints beautifully - just wish the print cartridges were a little bigger!
