Hi, it's been a little over a year since I purchased my digital camera, a Canon Powershot S200. It's a 2megapixel camera, light and has a metal frame.

However lately I've noticed an orange-ish dot in my pictures. It seems to happen both with and without the flash. I have no clue what it might be.

I've included sample images here to show you what's going on.

I suspect it might be something costly to repair, which might not be worth it as the camera is currenly worth around $200.

Already the door that secures the compact flash memory card has had the little plastic fastener clip break off (using tape to secure it).

It seems to me that one of the cells in your camera is dead.

I'm not really familiar with the internals of the digital camera. Care to shed a little more light on the topic?

I've taken around 2900 images with this camera. So are you saying it's an issue with the CCD or the Digital Imaging Processor?
