I had an idea for an Apple device and wanted your opinion. How about an wireless device that holds a 80 gb hard drive. You hook it up to your Mac, backup your mp3's to it. Unplug it and it can serve your music to your other Macs and a sterro. This way you do not need the Mac to be on when you want to use iTunes on another Mac to play your shared music. This is also a good way to have a backup of your music.

It'll never work for a couple of central reasons:

1) They'll never let you stream/copy the music to multiple computers; we tried this, they revoked it in iTunes 4.0.1.

2) Wireless networks are still a big slow/iffy to be constantly streaming large amounts of data.

3) Wired external hard drives work just fine.
