I am starting to see some really good deals on 17" and 19" LCD monitors by Daewoo. Anyone have any experience with them? Are these specs any good? (I wasn't even considering 19" until I saw this one available at $519, after rebate. The 17" is $299 after rebates.) Recommendations?

i didn't know they even made monitors. but, all i can say is, in most cases, you get what you pay for. it may work, but don't expect high quality picture or exceptional build quality. if their monitors are like their cars, i think they're sort of cheap, quasi-reliable machines.

I expect it to be some real cheap crapola as that is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear Daewoo.

I'll only buy a monitor I can see in real life. When you put two LCDs side by side there can be a huge difference in picture quality.

Daewoo monitors are probably fine because I doubt they manufacture the LCDs themselves.
Their cars on the other hand, are right up there with Kia... tinny junk.
I have a friend with one of the Daewoo hatchbacks, we call it the penismobile because it looks like the car from the SNL skit "ambiguously gay duo".

I wouldn't doubt it if they did make the LCDs. Mitsubishi, Hyundai, and Goldstar--erm, I mean LG Electronics do.

even if they're not manufacturing the LCD, they might be lowering prices by buying used and/or slightly defective parts from other vendors.
PS. I have a 25" Daewoo TV and it was half as much as any other TV that size, and yes, I think I got exactly what I payed for (which in this case is a TV that's good enough as long as there are no other TVs around to compare it to and make it feel bad)

85-degree viewing angle? No thanks...
You could do much better for a few more $$. Try searching at http://www.newegg.com
