Ok, here's my stiuation.
I've had a 30 GB pod for about 4 months, and I've been using it with my powerbook during that time. worked great.
This month I bought a new Win XP computer, and since I hear you can use the new iPods with both Mac and Windows i go ahead and plug it in to the PC and install the software. It does a reformat, but all is well since I have all my music files backed up on DVD.
I unplug and plug back into my powerbook, but now my iPod only shows up as a removable drive, and does not recognize in iTunes. This is not good. I guess you can use the new pods with Win OR Mac but not both. I did not know that.
With this new info I decide it's better to have the Mac format since iTunes is far superior to musicmatch. So i go to my Mac and run the 2.0.1 iPod updater to reset it. But when i hit restore, it just freezes on the spinning ball icon. It won't reformat!?!!? Ok, now I'm stumped.... what do I do?
How do I get it formated back to work on Mac with iTunes?
