Here's my dilemma.
I have a 15" Ti Powerbook that I use pretty much as my sole computer. However I also have a homebuilt PC desktop that for many years was my main machine and hence I have a large amount of files on it that are pretty important to me. I still use the desktop on occasion too for games and some work. The latter because sometimes its just easier to use my PC for stuff.
I'm looking at the possibility of getting some sort of external firewire drive that I could put the files from my desktop on and carry them around and access them with.
I'm thinking along the lines of an external drive because I'm wondering if its possible to be able to sync the firewire drive with one drive inside the desktop so that the data mirrors it. This would enable me to use the desktop and my PB for work and keep the same stuff with me all the time.
Hopefully this makes sense. So is this possible? And whats the cheapest external drives? I don't need anything very big (No more then 20GB) and it needs to be small enough that I can toss it in my backpack and carry with me.

I'm not sure, but maybe it's worth looking into-
if your ipod is not full of music, maybe you can use some of that space to store your files. I don't know if windows(or whatever os you are running on the p.c) will recognize a Mac formatted ipod as an external drive, but maybe you can network the p.c and your pb- then save to ipod. Yeah it might be a lot of work, but it would be cheaper than buying a new drive.
holla!

Get any external HD and format it for PC. You will be able to read this HD with your Mac. Or you could simply netowrk the computers together and get the files that way. if I was in your position I would buy a new larger internal HD for the Powerbook (hitachi travelstar GN80 - 80 gigs) and put your 20 GB of PC stuff on that. You will still have 60GB left for your Os X stuff... Way easier, as you wont have to carry around an external drive. cheaper than an >20GB iPod. if you went with a egular external drive you would have to find a place to plug it in for power.

So. If I were you:

get a new 80GB HD installed in your Powerbook - network the Powerbook and PC and mirror the PC onto the Powerbook.
