I usually don't bother installing the software that comes with a digital camera... iPhoto lets me effortlessly download and manage the photos from any camera just fine. Similarly, iMovie effortlessly handles all my video cameras that hook to FireWire.

But now I have a digital camera that can save movies! iPhoto doesn't seem to see the movies; and iMovie doesn't seem to see cameras on USB. The camera does not have FireWire.

Sooo... is there any standard Mac software to pull those movies off the digital camera over USB? Or do I need to install the Kodak software to do that? (Its a Kodak Easyshare 6340, in case it matters.)

Anyone use the Kodak software? Is it okay?

No worries mate, just fire up Image Capture. It's in you applications folder.

You can save photos, movies and sound from your USB digital camera or flashcard adator.
