The stand (clear plastic leg) broke off my Apple 17" LCD. Specifically, the aluminum flange that attaches to the plastic leg broke off at the leg. This flange extends into the spring assembly inside the monitor case.
I've tried to obtain one of these flanges from numerous sources. Apple won't make one available so they can collect $400 for the simple repair. The refurb houses I've contacted either say they don't have them or they don't call back.
I'm hoping someone in MacNN land will have a suggestion as to how I can get this replacement part.
