So the new PowerMac G5 machines come with optical audio in and out? Does anyone make such an adapter so I can have it on my 17" PowerBook?

Yes. the M-Audio Sonica. search in this forum and the PowerBook forum, there have been a few topics on it recently.

you might want to look at the Edirol UA-1D: both SPDIF and Toslink in and out.

both are SPDIF, one just uses a Coaxial connection, and the other Optical.
edit: one of the features of the box you linked to is:
Diver goggles inspired blue color gives the device that athletic look

whoops! sorry, meant to say "both coax and Toslink".
yeah, the minidisco people are kinda funny! and it's "diver goggles".

What's weird about driver goggles.I wear them all the time when I'm out and about in my Stanley Steamer.
