I'm debating whether to sell my cheap inkjet HP 842C, and just use my Epson 1280 for everything. But I've been printing a few web pages, and tell me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the results from printing web pages , in color, on the cheap inkjet come out nicer.

Any ideas appreciated. thanks.

Neither, have a look at the Canon i950 or 9100. Both are MUCH better.

Well I thought you wanted to sell one?

Anyway, what I am saying is that you should get rid of both and get a better printer that is amazing at both.

Other then that I don't know what answer you are looking for.

I guess I'm looking for someone who has been on the Epson 1280 (this series is the pretty poplular with professional photographers) but then tried to print on the web with it.

But I'm sure those Canons are great as well.

I guess I'm wondering why a high end printer like the 1280 wouldn't print a web photo as well as a very cheap inkjet. Maybe someone with 1280 series would know.

Uhhhhh... if you have a 1280, why don't you try printing from the web yourself and seeing if you are satisfied?

I use my 1280 for everything (until I get a colour laser). The only problem with it is the green shift in it's blacks, a problem solved with the next gen 7ink epsons. We used to use the 1280's in the photo studio at the office until we got the 2200.

AFAIK the printer isn't going to make crappy webimages look any better unless it's interpolating pixels/dots on it's own. However, for the stuff I've downloaded (mainly from deviantart.com) it does a fantastic job.

Have you done any 13"x44" prints off it yet?

EDIT: My point? Sell the HP.
Yose.

well I was thinking of selling the HP. But it prints web pages much sharper and with better color than the 1280. I was just seeing if anyone know why that is.

the 1280 is awesome for portfolio prints though.

I usually print 8x10 and 11x14
