Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if this is possible:

I inadvertantly wiped out the playlists for iTunes on my firewire hard drive: I previously had a bootable version of OS X.2.7 that had all of my apps and prefs, but needed to backup my reinstalled system as I was sending the computer in for servicing and had done some things since the reinstallation. I happened to be in a rush when I used carbon copy cloner and I accidentally overwrote all the duplicate files that were residing on my drive, including all of my playlists (luckily almost everything else stayed the same). I had been meaning to put the new version of the system in a seperate folder to avoid this, but forgot to, and thus my old playlists were overwritten by the default iTunes playlist.

Now, I have my iPod with the playlists that I want and was wondering if I can somehow get the playlists off the iPod and back into iTunes. I do still have the iTunes 3 version of the playlists before I upgraded to v.4 that have pretty much what I want. Is there any way to replace my lost lists? I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you very much!

Do a search for PodUtil either in Versiontracker or on the Macnn home page. Did the same thing and the utility allowed me to copy my playlists back into iTunes ithout any problems. well, I did have to reset the iPod after doing so, but didnt loose any data.
