I've searched the forum and didn't see this anywhere...
i'm looking into getting an EyeTV for college, as my large TV will be used in our common area and i'd like something for my bedroom.

my Question is how is the video quallity in full screen? i AM NOT talking about record quality, the record quality is something that comes second to me, as I'm really just interested in running it in a window as i work on my 17" iMac OR possibly at full screen later at night when i lay in bed. So again, i'm just looking to see what the Video Quality looks like for standard viewing.

is there anyway i can get a screen show of windowed mode? i'd really appreciate it! thanks

Try a search in the Digital video & audio section.

I use my EyeTV for recording only so I couldn't tell you.

As you know, I have a Studio TVR. Although the price is a bit steep ($389 at MacMall) and recording shows take up a shiteload of space, it has the best picture quality out of any device I've used, and that includes the EyeTV device.

Remember, it's the only device on the market that provides the highest resolution.

Take any 320 by 240 high quality quicktime movie you have and play it full screen. That's it. Everything's viewable, but it's not TV quality by any means at full screen. It works for me.

ADS Instant DVD USB encodes directly to either MPEG1 or MPEG2 (CBR/VBR, up to 6MB/s) in real-time. IMO, as long as you don't do much unattended TV recording, it doesn't make a lot sense to get a DV-recording device like Formac which requires huge disk space and later on massive CPU horsepower (something the current Macs are sorely lacking) and lots of time to re-encode to some other format (often MPEG1 or MPEG2).
