I like Canon. They make nice printers. My mom uses an S820 which is nice and my sister has an i450 which is good for the price. My Epson kicked the bucket (the second one to do so in a year and a half) so I decided to get a printer. Did some research on canon and hp and found the Canon i560 to be nice. They advertise it as OSX compatible on the box and the web. Guess what? I go to the website to get the driver and they say its not out yet. How's that for false advertising to have the box say it works on OSX but not to have a driver yet. I hope they get it out soon (the website says August) but I am disapointed in them. Till then I guess I must print in Classic

You're right, that sucks. Try calling tech support, they may have a beta to download.

That's bizarre. The i560 did just get announced like 2 weeks ago, though...

See what happens if you try the i850 driver. The i560 is almost identical (same basic print mechanism).

Never mind! I just assumed it was like the i450 and S820 where the OSX driver isn't on the CD. It is on the CD but not on the website. Very strange.

Canon are usually excellent in my experience driver wise (and warranty wise)...

I won't use any other brand these days.

Ditto. I have bought a Canon S630 with my first iBook dual USB. They have had drivers from the beginning (10.0.3) plus the printers are excellent.

Usually they sell a `downgraded' printer of their top of the notch product for less. But the mechanics and guts should be more ore less identical. Try the driver for the i850.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I bought the i560 here in Sweden, there was a driver on the CD that came with the printer version 2.0.0. But - it won't work ( on 10.2.8 ) , I just get generic print options, can't choose color or paper quality.

In print center the "configure" option is grayed out, though I can open the BJC printer utility by hand and it works fine.....

Found a version 2.0.2 of the driver on the Europe Canon site but the same issue there. Anyone ?

I tried the print center repair utility without luck.

Anyone ?

/ Daniel
