I just got a new 160GB Internal Hard Drive, ATA/100, and I put it into a firewire enclosure. When I power it up I can hear the drive spinning but it won't mount on my desktop. When I check the system profiler It doesn't recognize that there is a firewire drive attached. I tried swithing the jumpers on the drive but I am yet to find a setting where it is detected

Any ideas?

What drive and what enclosure? Does the drive work hooked up to a computer? Some firewire enclosures only support drives up to a certain size (128 GB) and others can have conflict with certain manufacturer's drives. The more info the better.
