Hi all,

I just bought a Acard AEC-6880M for my Quicksilver 867. After much trouble, I finally got my new hard drive (a WD 2000JB) initialized, loaded with OS X (10.2.6), and appearing on the desktop.

My problem is that neither this drive, nor my old drive, can boot into OS X if they are hooked into the AEC-6880M. Both drives boot fine if they are hooked into the normal hard drive connectors on the Mac, but once I plug them into the 6880M, they can no longer boot.

What should I do? I've tried everything - updating the firmware and drivers, switching the master/slave things on the hard drives - and I just can't get OS X to boot.

I also seem to have the Deep Sleep problem which the new firmware supposedly fixes....

If anybody has any suggestions I'd be grateful. I emailed Acard but no responses as of yet - I'll follow up if I get it working.
