Low-end mode starting at 15 GB? Or is Apple gonna ride the current models until the new year?

iPods are selling really well. Most of the time it's the number seller on Apple's store. You think Apple would need to do anything with the iPod?

What else can they do to the ipods? More storage? I don't think anyone needs more storage than 30gb.

Color OLED screens?

iPhoto synching to get picture thumbnails onto the iPod for browsing?

The iPod doesn't need a color screen, but neither do cellphones, yet all but the el cheapos are getting them (and the iPod is not el cheapo).

I keep a bunch of thumbnails on my T68i, even though it has a 101x80 screen with a washed out 256 color palette.

Well, it would be something to help fill the 30 GB with!

(And if it could do this, and act as a CompactFlash to FireWire card reader and storage device, many many pro photographers would buy them, and never even listen to the music...)

The only reason cell phones have color screens is so that service providers can entice you into paying more money to play games.

Bill Gates, 1981: "512kb of RAM should be enough for anyone".

I assure you, 30GB is no where near enough for some people.

iPods need mics. That's the only thing left. There were rumors that the 3rd gen ones would get them this fall via an add-on but I've not heard anything more about it.
