We bought an AE basestation to replace the old graphite one to use with both my wife's iBook and my Ti. Before, the iBook had full signal from the porch which is about 20 ft. away. Now, the iBook gets no signal at all. My Ti, of course, has always been pathetic in terms of AirPort range. All software/firmware are up to date. I've also tried changing the channels without much success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help much other to say this seems unusual. While I've had numerous problems with my AEBS, range isn't one of them. I'd say my AEBS actually gives out a slightly stronger signal than my old snow ABS. I also read somewhere the AEBS should get slightly better range. I don't remember exactly why, I think the transmitter is a touch more powerful.

If I had to guess, I'd say the internal antenna cable needs to be re-seated. Take that puppy to the Apple store, I'm assuming they won't gouge you too much to just pop the hood and take a look around.

Also recheck the connections on the Airport card in the iBook.
Are you sure the AEBS isn't set for g only?
Do you have any security enabled that is locking the iBook out (WEP or MAC address filtering)?

Perhaps it is on a different channel then your old base station.

Thanks for all your comments. I've checked the AirPort card in the iBook, and it looks fine. For what's worth, I have the settings in the AirPort Admin Utility as "802.11g/b compatible" for modes and "Automatic" for channel.
