Any digital camera will work, regardless of what is stated in the specs, if you get a film card reader.

The Gateway DC-M40 Digital Camera is a rebadged SKANHEX SX-410Z3. According to their about page SKANHEX is a Taiwanese Technology company that has only existed since 1997. Their product and drivers pages mention nothing of OS X support (like the Gateway page does). Personally I would be sticking to a more well know brand. It will probably be worth it in the long run, even if you have to pay a bit more.
If you are certain that this is the camera you want, speak to someone at Gateway and get a definite answer. If it is a yes (10.2 is supported), get it in writing in case they don't know what they're talking about and it doesn't work.
Also FWIW here is a review on the Gateway DC-M50 (next model up) aka Argus DC3810 and Skanhex DX-520Z. Please note I have nothing personally against the camera you are after, just that it seems a bit sketchy. I think you would be better off sacrificing pixels and going for a good quality 2 megapixel camera.

Thanks for the great comments. I got the camera, and it is much bigger than I would have4 liked. But it's still the cheapest 4 megapixel camera around. It does work with 10.2 and iPhoto with a generic driver.

Glad to hear that. Argus cameras, btw, are cameras I generally stay away from. A few months after my friend got a cheap 1.3mp one, I got a 2.1 from HP that cost nearly twice as much.
Frankly I'm not sure if I would ever do that again. It's slow, slower then that DC3800, it's pictures are absolute crap, it can't take a night picture at all, and it's lens is HORRIDLY slow.
Not to mention the battery compartment keeps falling open >:|
When I get the cam fixed by HP (the battery door isn't correct.. and thus the batteries keep getting disconnected), I think I'll give it to my bro, and get a nice cheap canon cam or something.
Even if it's a bit older in tech, I'm looking forward to not having to hold the ****ing cam still for 6 seconds for it to focus in properly!

You're right, it is slow, but it suits me for now. Maybe in a couple years when they have 6 megapixels for $200 I'll get another one.
