Check this out: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTE...50&Dept=hp

Not only does this handheld share the beautiful Aluminum look of the PowerBook, but it also has Bluetooth, Palm OS 5.0, and a 200 MHz processor.

It seems that it would go perfectly with the PowerBook...the only problem is that, because it's a clie, I'd need "The Missing Sync" or whatever to sync with my PowerBook. Would that be a problem?

Any comments welcome.

CLIE keyboards are terrible. Palm and Treo keyboards are significantly more comfortable to work with.

But if you have no problem with the keyboard and don't mind using third-party software to get a PDA to sync, go for it.

Hmmm, but the Palms with keyboards are bulky and ugly (Tungsten C is all plastic, and very thick). The Treos are indeed an option, though.

But you must admit...the TG50 looks great with the PowerBooks.

The keyboard is useable, but not great. But you don't actually need third-party software to sync the Clie. It works fine with bluetooth and with the cradle, as long as you have the latest version of Palm Desktop installed. And yes, it matches the powerbook very well.

As long as you don't mind ignoring the Sony software included with CLIEs. You need The Missing Sync to sync a Mac with CLIE-specific Palm software.

And no support from Sony.

Again, I'd reccomend a Palm or Handspring (soon to be one company) handheld instead because of their superior keyboards and real Mac support.

I just said you don't need the Missing Sync. The new Palm Desktop obviates the need for it to sync, although it does have other features that are useful.
