I'm looking to create a large, reliable backup device... I was wondering if anyone knew of a dual 3.5'' drive FireWire 800 and/or USB 2.0 drive enclosure (or just the electronics...I can build the enclosure myself).

I'd like to put in two 250 GB IDE hard drives and RAID them together to get ~250 GB available redundant space. Can it be done, and is it worth the effort? Are there any other cost-similar options I should consider?
