Personally, I bought an iSight thinking it was the nicest thing since sliced bread. But I find myself in too much of a hurry to actually video chat with anyone, or when I finally have a chance to talk with anyone on my buddy list, I have like 4 people I'm chatting at once to....How about you guys?

I'm rather seriously thinking about returning it or selling it on eBay. I bought it because it seemed like a nice idea, but then I tend to make stupid impulse purchases.

So now I realise that very few people I know use iChat and no one else has an iSight, so what really is the point? Especially for $129 (got it with a student discount).

It might be better if there is eventually some kind of interoperability with AIM (on Windows especially, since most of my friends are using that). Even then, though, I don't know how much I would use it. Hell, I've had a mountain of problems even getting the video conferencing to work from one iChat to another... most of the time it doesn't work at all and I've yet to figure out why.

We use iChatAV all the time to talk to our developers who all live in different countries, working from different offices. It makes collaboration on projects so much easier. And cheaper, our phone bill has been drastically reduced.

I understand the buyer's remorse, I've got it myself. But don't forget about EvoCam. It's a great little app that works with the iSight. It's something to play with until this whole video conferencing thing catches on.

And I'm patiently waiting for more fun apps to come out inspired by the iSight and iChat AV.

I said once, but it was a lie. I haven't actually used it. I did a couple of chats with my DV camcorder, and then got the iSight as a thank-you present and haven't had occasion to use it.

My mother, who lives out of state, is buying a new eMac and will get an iSight so she can chat with my son- easier than sending her digital pictures. She's getting the eMac next month when she is in town, so I'll use it much more then.
Paco is bitter about the loss of his .mac webpage. Image will return when his sadness lessens.

I'm buying an iSight for my brother's birthday and one for my mom's birthday, which are right around the same time, my brother is at SMU and my mom lives here in town (California) so I'm hoping that me and my brother and my mom and her son can video chat occassionally. But knowing my brother, he'll be too drunk to work it, either that or it will be a funny vid chat!
