I am looking to buy new Ink-Jet printer and thought the idea to be able to print directly on CD very attractive. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with the Epson 950? I also heard that after all that time they still haven't managed to support the OSX platform with the CD printer driver. Is that true??

What would be the printer to print out Photos, CD/DVD inlays and CD's??

I don't have this printer, but I'm buying it. As far as OS X support goes, you cannot print CD Labels using Epson software because it isn't OS X compatible--but who would use that anyway? Their Drivers page has the following file:

This file contains a template that lets you print directly on a CD or DVD with Adobe Photoshop and Mac OS X (10.1.3 - 10.2.4).

The installer will place two files on your desktop: the Photoshop template and instructions for using the template in "sp960 template.pdf".

You can print to CDs & DVD's, you just can't use the Epson software. You'd print to them just like you'd print to anything else going through the straight paper path. I'd prefer to use Photoshop Elements to print them anyway.

Oh, and as far as I know, only the Epson 900 and 960 support CD/DVD printing, not the 950--is there a 950?

Yes we have the 950 in the UK , I was wondering about that as well and after talking to Epson's sales personnel, I was told that the US has a 960 and Europe has the 950.
However, I think that Epson should write a decent driver for OSX; it's really not fair to lag on that front.

Don't get it twisted, there is a driver. The app used to design labels is not for OSX. The driver is there. Photoshop will stand in fine for my needs.
