Hey, does 10.2 support Jetdirect? I want to get an HP deskjet 6127 printer that has "networking built-in" but it's via Jetdirect. As far as I understand this is just regular ethernet, but will 10.2 recognize it?

I don't have your exact setup, but I have a JetDirect 300x external print server and a Deskjet 970Cse. The JetDirect box supports AppleTalk, so when I open Print Center and browse my local AppleTalk zone, I see the printer. It uses the HP driver (I already had installed since I used to use the printer directly) and everything works perfectly.

You may need to explicitly enable AppleTalk on the JetDirect server... I can configure my server via telnet or or a web broswer (it only supports web access for Windows clients tho).

I swear I tried all this about a year ago and it didn't work at all, but it works now. I have 10.2.6.

Keep the rubber side down!

I have a laserjet 5n with a built in jetdirect card. Works fine, or it did until the card died in a thunderstorm. Just have to look up the ip address using the printer menu and for my printer I had to add the file for gimp print because it wasn't postscript.

I'm looking for another card, it was very useful.

This printers great.
It works over the TCP/IP network and allows me to print using HP IP Printing!

Works on OS 9.2 and above, and 10.1.5/10.2/10.3!
