Well I am getting a new Power Mac and need a cheaper LCD than what Apple has to offer, but I still want a widesceen like ratio. Any ideas? I would refer 17" to 21".

not worth it when you factor in the cost of the mulitlink, though they do look nice. Don't know if the problem with OS X has been fixed though... http://www.sgi.com/products/legacy/m...k/mac_faq.html

Samsung makes a 17" widescreen which is nice but only 768 vertical pixels. I want 18" or larger.

Aren't you the one that's always toting the Formac displays? Why not go with the 2010? It's $999 right now, direct; that's cheaper than Apple.

I know of a Samsung that's:
* LCD
* Widescreen 1920x1080 resolution.
* 500 nits brightness
* 800:1 contrast
* 12ms response time
...oh, and it's 54" diagonal. No word on the price yet.

I guess I'm going with either a ViewSonic 20.1" or Formac 20.1".
Unless I make some good money on eBay this week that is... then I'm going for the Apple Cinema.

pay what you can of an apple 20" in cash and charge the rest. (if you have a CC) you will not be disapointed... then pay the CC off over a couple of months...

Also, check whether this guy has sold his used 20" already or not.
I've been looking all over for 20-inch displays, and for me it's down to the Apple, the Formac, or the NEC 2080UX...

Thanks, I just e-mailed the guy and see if he still has it (crosses fingers).
