OK... I have been managing my iPod on my work G4. I just recently got the Harmoni upgrade and want to sync my iPod NOW to my home machine. How can I get it to switch over to only synching to my home machine? My iMac (home) keeps wanting to overwrite my iPod with like 2 songs... how do I get my iPod to update my iMac?
Thanks!

You can't unless you have the iPod see the home machine as the Mac it uses for syncing. iPods can only sync to one Mac at a time. Now, you can get utilities that will transfer the music off of the iPod to the home Mac, then load those songs into iTunes. You can then have the iPod sync with the home Mac with the same songs, but from a different source.

Why don't you do something like erase your iPod, copy your iTunes music folder (with the playlist files) from your work machine to your iPod in firewire disk mode, go home, copy the files to your home iMac, replace the iTunes music folder on your iMac with the one on your iPod with all your mp3s and playlist files, open iTunes to make sure everything is linked, plug in your iPod, erase the files on the firewire hd and sync it with your iMac.
That should work..if it is not too late.
Be sure to keep your work machine as is in case something goes wrong, you can just re-sync it there and everything will be back.

MAN... OK.. sounds like a plan... I used a program that copies all of the music files to a specified area... But now when I try to copy (drag the whole folder to the itunes library window) it goes for a little bit (processing) then it just hangs on a random song... for a while it was blaze of glory... so I took it out and now its another one... should I reinstall iTunes... or continue pulling out my hair... ARGH

What I was suggesting, was to copy your entire Music foler with the iTunes folder in it which contains your library and playlist files. Just copy that folder to your ipod and transport it. At home, back up your music folder (if you want to keep it in case of a mess up) and replace the whole Music folder on your Imac with the Music folder from work. When you boot up iTunes, it will use the library and playlist files you just copied and iTunes should look identical to your work set up.
I hope this helps.

Yeah... I did that... but when I try to add the music to my i tunes library, it just stops randomly on a song and sucks down 98% of the cpu doing what appears to be nothing... I have all my music and my iTunes files on my iMac... just can get them into iTunes without it freaking out... all 22 gigs of em...

Yikes! I hope you are able to get it straightened out.
Have you thought about trying iPod.iTunes? Looks like it might help.
