I would like to offer an iPod to someone who loves music, has a mac with a big iTunes collection. But I know he is also interrested in what a Palm can do : notes, calendar, reminders, agenda, phonebook ... just how convinient is it to use that non-musical stuf on an iPod ? Is it easy to udpate i.e. an agenda ? Thanks in advance

If he's looking for PDA-like functionality, the iPod is not for him. The iPod's non-music functions are very minimal.

It's strictly a viewer for iCal and Address book entries, so there's no input whatsoever. And it's really not a very good viewer either. The cheapest palm will kick its butt.

yah but I love waking up my pod to have it tell me that my car payment is due.

Just a little extra thing that I really like about it.

Besides, you have some games on there even though they stink, its better than nothing. Extremely easy to use with iCal and address book. A Palm is the way to go if you need anything real.

Next update: PALM like interface and Game Boy graphics!!!
