I have a Quicksilver Power Mac G4 and will this internal CD-RW drive work inside of it?

LTR-52327S Lite On 52x32x52 CD-RW

It is $40.99 at New Egg with free shipping.

It might not work with iTunes and the Finder (definitely not on OS 9), but it should work with Toast. (Apple has shipped Lite-On CD-RW drives in G4s before.)

I have the Lite On 52x32x52 CD-RW (model LTR-52246S) and it works OK with my computer (Powermac G4 533DP). It caused kernal panics when I first installed it until I removed the Audiophile 24/96 soundcard I had installed. It will not burn CD's with iTunes if the gap between songs is set to "0".. I wouldn't have purchsed this drive had I known that, I don't like having the 2 second gap between tracks.

Does anyone know if this newer model has fixed those issues?

i have that drive, in 10.2.6 you had to edit somedriver things to get it to work (www.xlr8yourmac.com), but i think 10.2.8 has drivers for it

(i like the drive a lot, it works really well)
