OK, in July I updated to 10.2.6 and also installed isync to sync my safari bookmarks while I was out of town for two months. Something in that process broke my syncing to my Tungsten T but I didn't have time to fix it then.

here's the two messages I get:

at startup I get : "application Launch Failure

The application "transport monitor" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "8<Transport Monitor><Transport Monitor><HotsyncLib.PPC><>" "

Then when I try to launch the Palm Hot Sync Manager I get : Application Launch Failure

"The Application "HotSyncManager" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "4<HotSync Manager><Hotsync Manager<>Hot SyncLib.PPC><>"

I tried throwing everything related to isync into the trash with no change. I also looked for disabled conduits but they're all in the Palm conduit folder. I feel I've had this problem before but can't remember what the solution was.

If I reinstall Palm desktop how do I retain my user data? Is this likely to help me?

Thanks for any help.

problem seems to be solved. I took a chance and trashed the Hotsync Manager and Palm Desktop apps and reinstalled them from original CD, following the "many Palm problems solved by reinstall" advice given elsewhere. Data is intact too.

Is it possible to have isync installed without messing up my palm syncing? I'd really like to sync my bookmarks among computers using isync.

I tried reinstalling and the installer says it was unsuccessful (after the second script stops running). This is pissing me off...

Sure, just open iSync and uncheck the options (address, calendars, etc) that you don't want to sync with each device. Just leave .Mac bookmarks checked and it won't sync anything else.

I have just updated to Panther and had hotsync errors when syncing my Palm. Trashed everything and have tried a reinstall.

I now get the same "install did not complete" message when trying to install the Hotsync portion of the installer (Palm Desktop installs fine).

I have not been able to find a solution anywhere for this.

Looking forward to a remedy!!!

I noticed that this thread popped back up. It's been on my endless list but I haven't gotten back around to this particular issue. I think I'll try getting isync and palm to play nice again.

I've been looking for info on any problems with palm syncing and Panther but there doesn't seem to be much discussion of it. It seems Panther doesn't function much better or worse than Jaguar in this respect. I'm hoping no news is good news in this case.

Any feedback appreciated on 10.3 + Palm issues.

I pulled the "HotSync Libraries" from my previous system folder and placed it in Library/CFMSupport.

This seemed to do the trick and I can now Hotsync again.
