One button?!?! No scroll wheel? Non-rechargeable? Come on... no way.

Edit - Its 3 AM and I'm tired... can you move this to peripherals?

I was going to chide you for bringing up the whole one-button no scroll wheel issue yet again, but...not rechargeable??? That is pretty darn lame, it seems to me. How long do the batteries last?

Three months. And the mouse uses 2x Lithium AA batteries, as these are much lighter than alkalines. I think they are more expensive.

My mom. And I'm sure she'd open up the industrial can o' whoop ass if you tried to pound her.

Newer computer users. It's still confusing to them for the first few months of usage to figure out which is the primary button.

Why apple doesn't make two wireless mice, one with only one-button and one with two buttons and a scroll wheel, is beyond me.

It is plain stupid to be offering this one button wireless mouse. The only people who don't use the right button and scroll wheel are people who don't have it and don't know enough to get one!

I mean even absolute beginners wonder why Apple mice have only one button (though they probably don't know what the second button is for anyways).

I don't know who is responsible for this but having to go to a 3d party because the standard Apple supplied mouse is innefficient sucks! It is almost insulting to the average user and above to be offering this!

I use the one-button apple mouse. I have been using Apple computers since the original Macintosh and Macintosh SE days, but have also been using windows at work with a two-button mouse and scroll wheel. I now use a powermac at work instead of a wintel machine. I have thought about getting a more sophisticated mouse, but the added functionality is marginal, compared with the aesthetics and ergonomics of the Apple product. Hold-clicking and control-clicking work fine for me and, in any event, are needed for less than 5% of the clicking I do. Most of my needs relate to MS Office docs and browsing, and for those uses, one button is fine. A scroll-wheel would be a more useful addition than a second button but I have a Powermate that covers that somewhat.

I will almost certainly buy the new keyboard. I will look at the Belkin bluetooth mouse and if it looks right on my desk and has a good feel, I will get it for the extra button. Otherwise I will get the Apple version.

Before anyone sneers at my emphasis on appearance, remember that this is permanent installation on my desk. All factors need to be considered in making a decision, and the marginal utility of having an extra button over a hold-click on the rare occasions that it is needed have to be balanced against something that I see or have in my hand 75% of the time I am at my desk.

New users wouldn't buy another mouse. They'd spend all of their energy trying to learn their new computer. This mouse shouldn't have been target to this group--especially when so many experienced Mac users wanted a two button [plus scroll wheel] wireless mouse, and would have paid much more for it. I believe there are millions of us, less than 500,000 new users. Bad decision.

So disappointed.
