I just bought an iPod (10GB model) and I'm about to charge it's battery. Should I charge it to 100%, then let the battery drain completely, and then charge it back to full again before using it (as one would with a laptop battery) or can I charge it partially, play around with it a bit, and then fully charge it at my leisure?

I want to play with it now, rather than wait hours for it to fully charge!

Thanks,
Mike

Just hook it up to your computer with the dock. It'll charge as you sync your music. Then hook up your speakers to the line-out on the dock, and listen as you charge.

I think the iPod battery isn't the type that you need to "teach". I know that with the 15" PB, Apple explicitly tells you to do just that. But with the iPod, it doesn't mention it anywhere. So I'm almost positive that you don't need to do that.

However, I hear that after a while, the iPod battery life begins to suck. My coworkers wife just bought one a couple of months ago and she gets no more than a few hours after fully charging it.

Maybe Apple purposely doesn't allow you to open up the iPod because when you do, you'll find a NiCAD battery in there instead.

There's never enough when you have too little
