I was thinking about the Apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and how they could be used in a set up with multiple computers. I guess if you have multiple bluetooth machines in the area then the first time you switch on the keyboard/mouse you have to decide which computer they will be paired with using a normal mouse to enter the settings.
I guess that a bluetooth peripheral wouldn't have enough 'intelligence' to allow you to hit a hot key to automatically connect itself to another machine. Maybe Apple could build this kind of feature into the OS to allow the computer you have the connection with to tell another machine to take over the connection?
So as I imagined it would be something like this. You have your bluetooth mouse connected to Computer A. You open up System Preferences (or hit some hot key on your keyboard) to bring up a panel allowing you to choose the computer to connect the keyboard/mouse to. There is a list of other computers in the area built up automatically using Rendezvous over Bluetooth. You select that you want to connect to Computer B.
Computer A drops it's connection with the keyboard/mouse and sends a signal over to Computer B via bluetooth telling it to negotiate with the keyboard/mouse for control. You end up with the keyboard/mouse connected to Computer B.
Sounds like a really nice way of controlling multiple computers with these peripherals.
