I want a cheap backup solution for my iBook. I want to get a 40 GB FW HD. I wonder how important the IDE bridge is. I can get a 40 GB HD for 109 Euro, but only with an "Genesys 711 Bridge". I'd chain it with my LaCie cd writer and my iPod. Of course, the performance of the hd wouldn't be the greatest, but how about compatibility? Any experiences?
