Ok, this weekend I was at Sam's Club and I saw that they had the Canon i560s for $100. Normally the i560 sells for $129, and the only difference I can tell between the two is that the s model includes a USB cable. Is there a difference here that I'm not aware of? Does anyone have either one of these printers, and if so what is your experience? Please keep in mind that I don't plan to use this to print digital phots, mostly just text and the occasional webpage. To give you an idea, my previous printer was an Epson Color Stylus 800 and I was happy with that when it worked.

The i560/i560s is essentially an i850 with a plastic lid, and different color inks.

If its print quality and speed are comparable to the i850 (which they are, on paper), it's a fabulous printer.

The "s" designation is simply so that the printer won't be eligible for rebates, since it's already discounted at Sam's.

I bought the i560 here in Sweden, there was a driver on the CD that came with the printer version 2.0.0. But - it won't work ( on 10.2.8 ) , I just get generic print options, can't choose color or paper quality.

In print center the "configure" option is grayed out, though I can open the BJC printer utility by hand and it works fine.....

Found a version 2.0.2 of the driver on the Europe Canon site but the same issue there. Anyone ?

I tried the print center repair utility without luck.

Anyone ?

The current Canons are all amazing, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Hoho

It works - gave my disk some beating with Norton 6.0, and it found some nasty issues.

After they were fixed the printer works like a charm Damn it's quick !
