Music played from CD or stored tracks on my MDD 867 and Soundsticks is prone to occasional jerks and jumps, exacerbated by mouse movement (but happens also without mouse movement).
The soundsticks are plugged directly into the computer.
Any advice most welcome

Sounds to me like maybe the sound from the Soundsticks (I've got them) is being affected by additional 'traffic' on the USB port(s). I've got the Soundsticks plugged directly into one USB port, and a USB hub for evertything else (mouse, printer, etc.) on the other USB port - but must admit that I've never had a problem. Am at a loss to suggest remedial action, being that they are already plugged straight into the USB port on your Mac.
