I recently bought a Canon i850 and it works great, but I cannot figure out how to get borderless prints.

Here is what I do:
1. Go to page setup, select Format For:i850.
2. Paper Size: 4x6 (borderless)

3. Then select constrain: 4x6, or 4x6 portrait in iPhoto.
4. Drag the mouse and select a portion of the image I want to print. (I usually lose just a little bit of the edge)

5. Select Print.

Now what I see the preview of my Photo it still has white at the top and the bottom of the page.

This is what the canon website says to do also, but I cannot get it to work.

I can only get borderless prints using their ImageBrowser app. Using iPhoto won't work since it seems to put two borders on the sides..though the top/bottom are borderless.

First off, nice job with the printer. The i850's fantastic.

After you've done page setup and cropping the image, you've got to select "Full Page" from the style menu. This should work. I'm pretty sure that's what I had to do to get good prints.

Full Page is the default, but it still has borders on the top and bottom.

What is so weird is that the 1st photo I printed seemed to print witout borders, but none of the other pictures will do it, and reprinting the 1st photo has borders now....

If you have Photoshop it works fine with that on my Canon i950.

You're positive that you're cropping them for the right dimensions? Like 4x6 and not 5x7? Other than that, you might want to call Apple. I can imagine it's just some little setting that you may have overlooked. Certainly know I've done that enough.

Hope you figure it out.

Try increasing the "extension" amount in the Borderless Printing panel of the print dialog.
