WHEN ?
I know they are coming and I know it will be the greatest day of all for myself and my iPod. I simply cannot walk around with wires hanging around like that. not only does it look retarded to me but also I just find it clumsy, unconfortable, not doable. I know also it is just me, and a few others. My father for instance does not mind. But the technology is there - we know there are bluetooth headset for cell phones. So what the hell ?

Have you ever used a BT headset for a phone? Mono 4Khz audio from an iPod would be a waste.

If you ask me BT is not mature enough to provide a seamless experience. We will have them one day, but I don't see that day coming any time in the next 3 years...

wowowwo, what a gigantic disappointment to hear this. I hope you are wrong

Anyhow, too bad - I am still quite happy with the iPod as my bedside stereo system. Yes, I do continue to hope even though I have heard from others similar comments as yours. I had no idea the quality of a BT headset was so distant from what music would require.

Maybe a quick fix on the cord problem would be to get a set of headphones with the cord coming off of only one side. I have always favored these because the cord is less likely to get in your way as it would when it is coming out of both headphones.

why do they have to be bluetooth? There are plenty of wireless headphone options out there, Sennhieser has a line of them.. Though I can't see hooking the basestation up to an ipod.. stick it on your mac and use a bluetooth phone to control itunes.
