The idea of being able to have the ability to record television programs and record them to a DVD is very appealing, so which solition is the best. I have heard that EyeTV is good, but it won't let you do a "season pass" setup like tivo. Are there other products that are better?
thanks

What is season pass? If it is what I think it is, then you can do it with EyeTV...You can set it to record Seinfeld every X day at Y time, and it will do it automatically every week. I have mine set to record 2 simpsons episodes every day, in addition to all my favorite shows. I rarely have to auto-add something to be recorded.

season pass is pretty much saying, "record simpsons" and it will record ALL of the simpsons automatically for you. Do you like your Eye-TV? What are some of the things you dont like about it?

My biggest critisim of the EyeTV is that it doesn't have a power-supply option, it's always USB hub powered. Seeing how my Cube has 1 useable USB port if you want speakers attached, this forced me to get a 2nd USB hub to supply enough power to run it and my other USB powered devices.

Most users wont' have this problem.

I believe Season Pass is smart enough to roll with adjustments to the program schedule. The concepts work a little differently: With Tivo, you tell it to record every instance of CSI Miami. With EyeTV, you say record CBS every Monday at 9PM. If a presidential speech comes on and preempts CSI, Tivo should know. EyeTV won't.

How much this really matters is up to you.
